St. Louis, MO
Miss Jubilee & The Humdingers were formed in 2007 when because of a lack of good bands to dance to, Valerie Kirchhoff expressed interest in putting together a swinging high energy Jump Blues band that was authentic in presentation of 1940′s & 50′s music and style! Dan Conner quickly found musicians interested and subsequently took on duties of Producer & Manager, rehearsing the band twice a week for almost six months before their first show at the legendary Casa Loma Ballroom! They were an instant hit with the audience and the few hundred dancers couldn’t get enough! The amazing guitar work of Rob Guth took the band into not only Rhythm & Blues but hard driving 50′d R’n’R and the driving horn arrangements of Kevin O’Conner just made it that much better!…..Many horn players later in late 2010 the band went thru a line-up change and started to delve back into the Hot Jazz & Blues of 1920′s & 30′s…..almost becoming two bands in one with two very distinctive styles of playing they eventually decided to do it all in the context of one band as most audiences seemed to like the mix. Thanks to the ability of Miss Jubilee to play a wide variety of genres while still remaining in the context of authentic Jazz & Blues, they have carved out a niche bigger then most. This is one of the main reasons they are fortunate enough to be the hardest working band in St. Louis (often doing two to three gigs a day!)…..and grateful!
